Our Community

Somerset Farm is an independent living, 55+ community located in Sycamore, Illinois about 90 minutes west of Chicago. We are self-managed through volunteer residents who serve on the Board of Directors or on Committees (Finance, Garden, and Social). There have been no special assessments, no deferred maintenance, and our reserve expenditures model is more than 95% funded. The Association maintains a master insurance policy aligned with requirements in our Declaration of Condominium Ownership. All meetings of the Board are open to residents and all expenses are documented in the meeting minutes. 

The current community of 96 units, plus a clubhouse, began in 2005 with just 8 units. Development continued through 2018. There are 5 different floor plans, some with basements. Reserve expenditures have included roof, driveway, patio door, patio, sidewalk, irrigation component replacements, and clubhouse renovation. Exterior cleaning, pillar restoration, gutter guard installation, landscape renovation, mailbox inspection, and other programs provide robust maintenance support.
